Case Study 1 - Offence: Rape

Case Information:

Forensic Mobile Services were contacted by the defence barrister to assist in the Forensic examination of two mobile telephones.

The suspect had been accused of rape which he strongly denied. The police relied heavily upon the mobile telephone evidence produced by their expert.

FMS were able to complete a full analysis and data recovery of all relevant data stored within the suspect and victims mobile telephones and associated media. It was found from our analysis and interpretation that the police expert had failed to retrieve crucial evidential data which identified that the suspect’s description of the events leading up to and after the alleged incident were a true and accurate account compared to that of the victims.

Outcome of Investigation:

Based upon the evidential material presented by our expert the suspect was acquitted of all charges.
